February Date Ideas pt. 1

I am coming off the longest break I've taken from my blog so far. Last weekend I went home searching in Denver with my mom, and shortly after I came home I got hit hard with the flu. I am finally feeling well enough to sit up today, but for the last 3 or 4 days I have been completely out of commission. I'm not going to advocate for the flu shot, because that thing scares me, but please stay away from anyone with the flu, and wash your hands frequently! I can honestly say it was the worst I have ever felt in my entire life. I ended up in the hospital, and I swear to you, every time the doctor came in I thought he was going to tell me I was dying. It was that bad. I ended up developing pneumonia on top of it, and the whole thing was just a nightmare. So stay healthy, friends!

My illness put me a little late on my February plans, but I still want to run a little mini-series of date ideas for the month. Kerstan and I aren't particularly big on Valentine's Day, but I still get swept up in all the pink and red hearts. So each week I will be sharing one of our favorite dates.

Now if you only recently got together, this date might be a little overzealous of you, but Kerstan and I do this a lot. We like to grab some pens and paper and head to a coffee shop. It's a relaxing environment, and it feels more exciting that just sitting at home having the same discussion. Talking about the future really inspires me, because we have so many changes coming up. Most recently our "future" dates have been to discuss our new home. We make lists of "must-haves" and brainstorm color palettes for our rooms. I like to make plans far in the future, so putting time aside to contemplate options and envision our lives in the near future has really put my mind at ease!

What are some of your favorite dates?

  1. I'd have to agree with you - talking about the future is fun plus you bond and further entangle your futures together.
